Neat, quality kit which required some adaptation of the Model Y.
I preferred to avoid chopping bits out of the polystyrene surrounds of the lower trunk storage as shown in various online methods to deal with Tesla's failure to accommodate a spare. As shown I ended up with the floor of the trunk raised a few cm but with some bending / clamping down of the back edges of the Tesla rubber tray, the tailgate closes ok with tyre wedged and tied down to the locking bar.Still have reasonable access to the lowest storage compartment where jack etc fit. Have now forgotten about the change and also the worry of "no spare"!
The spare is of high quality. Perfect size for our Tesla MY and does not take up much space. I have not had time fitting it but I have seen other reviews with the spare fitted and looks good.
The wheel and accesories parcels arrived very soon after ordering, trouble free process. It is as good a piece of kit as all the other reviews I read led me to expect.
Here it is ready for the trip but I hope it’s all the action it ever gets. I’m optimistic about that since the other factor in all the other reviews I read is that no one had ever had to use it.
All I can add is that the wheel occupies not a lot of volume in the rear of the Tesla Y and secures easily to the three child restraint points. The tools don’t take up that much space in the below floor storage, along with other items coming along for the ride just in case, like a Tesla Portable Charger which is great when trialled in the driveway but with a bit a luck will never see use along the track. either.
Great kit. Tyre expensive for an 80kmph option, but better that, than stranded on the side of a country road.

I have not needed to use the spare wheel yet but I’m very happy to have it in my car for peace of mind. I live on a country road and are probably more prone to punctures than those that live in the city.

Was surprised the jack unit came independently of the wheel, the jack arriving 2 days ahead of the wheel.
Fortunately the wheel arrived in time for my interstate trip.
The compact wheel eliminating any concerns of isolation and major delays due to a flat or shredded tyre.

The spare tyre is high quality and not noticeable while driving, the rubber puck for the Tesla chassis is dangerous as it deforms like jelly and promotes the jack to bend sideways, the plastic face on top of the jack alone is much safer. The kit is still good value and recommended.

**Storage Issues:** Unfortunately, the design does not consider space efficiency. The wheel occupies a significant amount of the boot space, making it challenging to accommodate other essential items. For instance, in our case, with a medium-sized dog cage already taking up room, fitting the spare wheel in the boot is impossible. This has led to the less-than-ideal situation of storing the spare in the shed, which negates the purpose of having immediate access to a spare tire.
**Practicality:** If your lifestyle involves regularly transporting goods or equipment in your vehicle, this spare wheel might become more of a hindrance than a help. One alternative could be placing the wheel in the back seat, but this isn't ideal either due to potential safety issues from the wheel rolling around during transit.
**Overall:** While the spare wheel is of good quality, its storage implications make it less practical for those who need to maximize their vehicle's cargo space.
